A new year always feels symbolic, but this one feels especially meaningful...
2025 was… not easy. And I don’t say that lightly. Moving is never simple — and trust me, this was my seventh major move. That doesn’t even include my student years, when I packed and unpacked my life at least five times (probably more). If you’ve ever moved once, you already know how much energy it takes. Now imagine doing it again, with a family and a business.
When you run your own photography business, and things finally start to flow, deciding to move is not a small thing. But as a family, we made that decision. The Boston area is incredible — creatively inspiring, full of opportunity, and rich in photographic potential. At the same time, starting again in a new place is tough.
Not entirely from scratch — because I already have a strong portfolio, a clear niche, and a defined path for growth — but still… you have to introduce yourself again. Build visibility again. Earn trust again. Find new clients again. And honestly? I sometimes feel it’s easier to grow locally in a smaller town where word-of-mouth travels faster.
So yes — 2025 challenged me. A lot.
But here we are. And now it’s 2026!!!
This year, I’m continuing to grow my photography business — but with more intention and focus. The first step is making my studio feel even more cozy, calm, and welcoming. A space where creativity feels natural and where people instantly feel at ease.
I’m starting the year with project shoots. Not because I’m stepping back — but because I want to step forward creatively. I’m focusing heavily on photographic development, especially gel photography. I want to work faster, move confidently between lighting setups, and stop being afraid of color. These sessions are about skill, experimentation, and growth — and they will directly shape the future of my maternity, women’s, and personal branding work.
This year, I’m especially drawn to women’s and branding sessions. I love working with women. I love creating images that help them see themselves differently — stronger, more confident, more visible. I have a feeling this area will become a big part of my work in 2026.
Of course, newborn photography will always have a place in my studio. I truly hope that many little babies will visit me this year — those quiet, tender sessions are still very close to my heart.
And then there’s something new.
AI.
I’ve completely fallen in love with it. Not as a replacement for photography — but as an extension of creativity. I’m exploring ways to combine photography and AI thoughtfully and artistically. This deserves its own space, so I’ll be writing a separate blog post just about that.
